Tea, Stories, and Summer Mornings

Summer holidays have given me something I truly appreciate: slow, peaceful mornings.

After breakfast, I make myself a cup of tea and spend some quiet time reading blogs on WordPress. Every morning brings a different journey. Some writers take me to beautiful places around the world, while others share personal reflections, everyday moments, books, photography, or life experiences that make me pause and think.

What I enjoy most is discovering the unique voice behind each story. Reading these blogs has become one of my favourite holiday routines. It helps me slow down, relax, and begin the day with a smile, gratitude, and inspiration.

As bloggers, we naturally enjoy sharing our own stories. But these quiet summer mornings have reminded me that being a reader is just as meaningful as being a writer.

Writing is only one part of blogging. Reading other people’s stories is just as rewarding. Every blog offers a different perspective, teaches me something new, or simply brings a smile to my face. I enjoy taking the time to appreciate the thoughts and experiences that others so generously share.

A simple cup of tea, a peaceful morning, and a good story have become one of my favourite ways to begin the day.

Now I’d love to hear from you.

How do your mornings begin? Do you have a favourite blog, a good book, or a simple daily ritual that helps you start the day with a smile? I’d love to hear about it in the comments.

  1. Nice perspective and reminder that reading, commenting, and connecting are part of blogging and community.

  2. I wake up slowly, in that it takes a while for my brain to be fully functional. Thankfully, since transitioning from librarian to homemaker, I’m able to let my brain do it’s thing without rushing πŸ™‚ Part of my morning wake-up is to do Wordle, which seems like something you should do later in the day, but weirdly it helps my brain get going, lol

    1. Thanks so much for your lovely reply! 😊 It’s wonderful that you can ease into your mornings without having to rush. I love that Wordle has become part of your wake-up routine. It’s such a fun way to gently get your brain going. Wishing you many more peaceful mornings with a good cup of tea and a great Wordle score! β˜•πŸ’›

  3. Summer routines are slightly different, as I work in the school system. But also very similar. I usually wake up with my dogs around 5. Dogs eat first, lol. Then the coffee pot goes on with my typical egg and cereal. While I am waiting for that I grab a quick shower, and by the time I am done, food and coffee is ready.

As a quirk, the dogs know to wait for my last two pieces of my egg, as I always save it for them. That means it is time for our morning walk with a chosen audiobook or podcast.

Where summers differ is, instead of needing to head to work, I get to lay back down on our chaise and read or blog.
