Uzma Horizons

Whenever I walk through an old town, I find myself looking down at the streets as much as I look at the buildings around me. I love the uneven stones, their different shapes and colours, and the way they give each street its own character.

Some cobblestone streets are narrow and quiet, with old houses standing close together. Others lead into beautiful squares surrounded by historic buildings, cafés and little corners of everyday life. I often find myself slowing down to notice the doors, windows, lamps and other details along the way.

The stones also look different depending on the weather and the light. On a sunny day, they can add warmth to the whole street, while after rain they become darker and beautifully reflect the buildings around them. These are the little details that often make me stop and take another photograph.

Looking back through my travel photos, I realised how many cobblestone streets I had photographed without even planning to. Somehow, they became one of those small details I always notice when exploring an old town. Each street has its own character, shaped by the buildings, colours and surroundings.

My kids often laugh because they know I will slow down whenever I see another beautiful cobblestone street. I get so excited about taking photographs that they already know they may have to wait for me to finish. I suppose they have become quite used to my love for these little details.
